Dr. Justin Nowowiejski
Dr. Justin Nowowiejski received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences – College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. After graduation he completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island. After his internship he continued his profound interest in emergency and critical care. In addition, he has always had a special interest in avian and exotic medicine growing up and has had a variety of exotic pets throughout his life. Now, Dr. Nowowiejski is fulfilling his dream of opening a small animal general practice where he could meet the needs of the communities and their pets. A small animal practice where all types of pets are seen.
Dr. Nowowiejski is a native to the Westchester / Putnam County New York region and shares his home with his Poison Dart Frogs, Tropical Fish, French Bull Dog named "Amina", and Eclectus Parrot named "Bella". In his free time Dr. Nowowiejski enjoys Yoga, skiing, hiking, boating, and cooking.
Dr. Nowowiejski’s professional memberships include Association of Avian Veterinarians, American Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, The American Association of Fish Veterinarians, Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, American Association of Zoo Veterinarians, and the New York State Veterinary Medical Society.

Dr. Raechel Yost, DVM
Dr. Raechel Yost graduated from SUNY Canton in 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science in veterinary technology. She worked as an LVT in NY for 3 years prior to pursuing further education. She recently graduated from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell in May 2025.Dr. Yost brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and a deep commitment to animal care. Dr. Yost is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to your pets and building lasting relationships with our clients.
Trained at one of the nation’s top veterinary schools, Dr. Yost is passionate about surgery, rehabilitation and anesthesia. Clients can expect thoughtful, thorough care and a genuine love for animals that fits perfectly with our practice’s values.
Her current crew consists of her cat Ozzy and dog Sheba. On her off days, Dr. Yost can be found on the lake fishing, in the woods, reading a good book or spending time with friends.

Susan Curry
Growing up in a home with dogs, cats, hamsters, fish and birds has taught Susan the meaning of unconditional love.
She has worked 20+ years in the customer service industry and has been focusing her experience and love for animals in the veterinary field. As a mother of 4, Susan has watched her pets bring laughter, warm cuddles and brush away tears from her children’s faces. When she’s not playing with her Sheltie Brodie, you can find her digging, weeding and planting in her garden.

Sandra’s love and compassion for animals started at an early age and continues to be an important part of her life and career. She has worked 13+ years in the veterinary field, in both general practice and emergency hospital management.
Joining Southeast Animal Hospital was a perfect fit for her when she was looking for a professional change. It’s essential for her to work with a team of people who are honest and knowledgeable, who have like minded values of honesty, compassion and kindness when caring for pets and owners.
Sandra currently has 4 cats and 3 dogs that keep her very busy!
