Southeast Animal Hospital is looking to hire a full time Veterinary Assistant to join the team! Veterinary Assistants are an essential part of our team. If you’re looking for a part time position you are also welcome to apply.

One must have a strong work ethic, positive personality and be able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment, we do require you to be able to lift at least 50 lbs, work well with others as a team, and deliver exceptional care and customer service to our patients and clients.

Job Description/Requirements:

  • Provide excellent customer service, in person, over the phone and via email
  • Restrain all types of animals, sizes and temperaments (large, small, aquatic, small farm animals and a variety of exotics)
  • Assist our veterinarian and technicians with exams, procedures, ultrasounds and X-rays
  • Daily inventory and restocking
  • Provide a clean and comfortable environment for all hospitalized pets
  • Maintain cleanliness and disinfect all areas of the hospital including, but not limited to: laundry, cleaning of floors, taking out trash, cleaning treatment areas, exam rooms, the surgical and dental rooms, reception area and bathrooms
  • Assist, prepare and run in-house testing as needed
  • Assist the reception team as needed including preparing estimates, checking clients in or out and answering the phones.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience with dogs and cats in a veterinary hospital. Experience with exotics is a plus!
  • The ability to learn Digitail, our veterinary software program. Knowledge of Google Drive, Google Docs and Google sheets.
  • Flexibility to stay late if needed, available to work 1-2 Saturdays a month and are comfortable doing occasional house calls with the veterinarian/technicians
  • Salary commensurate with experience.
  • You are willing and able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
